Oquirrh School
The Children’s Center Building was opened as the Oquirrh School in 1894, serving as a public elementary school for many years early in its life. The building was designed by Richard Kletting, who also designed the Utah State Capitol Building. A total of 10 schools were designed by Kletting in Utah, this unique building is the only one that still stands.
During a major renovation in 2009 contractor Big-D Construction overhauled all major building systems while preserving the charming features that make the building special.
